Paul McHardie has only recently celebrated his first anniversary with the Toi Ora community. Despite his relatively short time here, Paul’s passion for art has been a lifelong affair.
Drawing and creating art have been integral parts of Paul’s life, cherished activities that have brought him joy for as long as he can remember. His artistic journey has been enriched by a diverse range of influences, from different art forms to his love for animals, which often find expression in his creations.
One of Paul’s latest artistic adventures involves mosaic work, joining the Toi Hono class learning Māori culture and expression, as well as being an integral part of the 7WONDERS show at the start of the year, helping with costume & set design and the art of Performing!
For aspiring artists looking to embark on their own creative journey, Paul offers a valuable piece of advice: seek inspiration from others. Learning different techniques and exploring various designs can significantly enhance one’s artistic repertoire.
Beyond his artistic pursuits, Paul has dreams of traveling overseas to experience different cultures and landscapes. When he’s not engrossed in creating art, you might find him enjoying music, notably Dolly Parton.
